Personally, I did not find this too repetitive but at times did want to just get through it and move on to the next mission. Because there are many different types of rackets there is a need for constant racketeering thus making people state that this game is repetitive.
The way you progress in the game is you have to take over certain rackets and and by controlling all of them you get a bonus, such as armored cars or body armor. One big accusation is that the game is very repetitive and while this may be true in some ways it isn't on most.
Sure the graphics aren't totally up to date but the story is very enjoyable, especially if you already know the Godfather story. "Godfather II" is not as bad as people try to make it out to be.
